AquinasFest 2008

Today was AquinasFest at our church. It was a lot of fun and very very crowded, which was a good thing. We played bingo, ate some great barbecue, watched the auction, played the cake wheel (didn't win one), the doll wheel and everything else in between. Here are some pictures of my gal riding the train and a pony (looks like a horse to me, but they said it was a pony). She did great and I'm tired.

I made the top 15!

I'm a little surprised. I made the top 15 of Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration. It goes to show that simple sometimes is the way to go. Thanks everyone for the sweet compliments and congratulations. Here's the card that made it.

Michael's Run

I ran to Michael's yesterday because they were havin' a sale. I can't resists ribbons and paper, especially when they are 50% off. Here's what I bought.

First Hair Cut

I'm so proud of my girl. She got her very first hair cut today and did just fabulous. No crying, no fits, nothing! I just love the look on her face too..."I don't know about this?" This is a pre-cut picture. I couldn't get a good shot and she really didn't get much cut. You could say this was a test run, just a trim to see how she would do.

KWerner DesignBlog Color Inspiration #23

Hi Everyone! Here's my card for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration. I really like these colors together. I'm kinda on a 4 x 4 card kick right now. They are just so easy to make. Let me know what you think.

Stamps: Seeing Spots, Circle of Friendship (retired)
CS: Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, paper piercer

I've been tagged!

Wow! I've been tagged by my good friend and coworker Jennie. This is pretty exciting. Jennie's blog is mainly about her children and daily life. Most of which I do hear about before it makes it to the blog, but some I don't. Its so nice to read about things that we don't always get to talk about. Jennie and I don't share an office, so I don't get to see her very often. We do however share a Bunco group, a Card Club and many, many, many discussions about our very dramatic girls. Thanks Jennie!

The rules are:

1) Link back to the person who tagged you

2) List 5 ways blogging has affected you

3) Tag 5 others

Blogging has affected me in many ways, but I think I can narrow it down to 5.

1) I have an outlet to demonstrate my paper craft creativity.

2) I've "met" tons of people from all over.

3) It's been a self esteem builder.

4) Much like Jennie, its kept me from other things that need to be done, but I don't want to do.

5) It has exposed me to a whole new world of paper crafting and numerous non crafting blogs. It's opened my eyes to what others experience and enjoy.

I tag....

Jackie

Lindsey

Michele

Angie

and because I think you should definitely check these ladies' blogs out and they are my good friends and Jennie has already tagged them.....Lacey and Emily.

KWerner Design Blog Color Inspiration # 22

Hi Everyone! Here's my card for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #22. I really liked the way this one turned out. Let me know what you think.

On a side note, we are bracing for Hurricane Ike. Here in CS it shouldn't be too terrible, but I'm sure we are going to get some major rain (which we need) and some major wind. The kicker is my brother in law is getting married this weekend....at my in laws....outside....well, not now. It should be interesting.

Stamps: Wanted, It's Your Birthday (retired)
Ink: Soft Sky (retired)
CS: Bravo Burgundy, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Soft Sky, Whisper White
Accessories: Western Sky DSP (retired), VersaMark, clear embossing powder, scallop punch, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon

Frames for AquinasFest

Here are some frames I "made" for AquinasFest. Basically, I covered these pre cut crown frames with decorative paper and added a cute ribbon. I think they are sweet. I cleaned Michael out of these frames, but I do have the name of the manufacturer. On the off chance anyone decides they want more, hopefully I can get more. Let me know what you think!

TGIF!!!

TGIF!!! Boy, do I mean it. Most of you know I work from home. This does not, I repeat does not my work any less stressful. Today in particular has been from hell! If I could quit, I would. Its been horrible. This week has been horrible. I never in a million years thought I would be dealing with so much non design related stuff. When I went to school for design they never once mentioned that the designing part is about 15% of what you actually do. God bless my coworker Jennie, she's had just as horrible a week as me. I just pray next week will be better for both of us. So yes, TGIF....I need a break.
