Make and Takes

Here are the two cards that were made at Saturday's Make and Take. The "Wonderful Mother"card is original. The "Make a Wish" one I got from Jan Tink at Splitcoaststampers.com. I thought it was such a great idea. Emily made a wonderful suggestion that it would be a great card for a guy or anyone for that matter. Just change up the DSP.

A few more thank you's

Here are a few more thank you's I whipped up really quick. I like the Kraft with the Tangerine Tango and Pretty in Pink...a little unexpected color combo I think.

These were made using scrap pieces. As long as they are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 or smaller you can put them in a standard envelope.

Who knew.....

.....a little green button could cause so much trouble. After a somewhat stressful day of doctors appointments we had a bit of a situation last night.

I thought it would be a good idea to take the girls for their first walk together. Daddy guided S on her bike and I pushed B in the stroller. It was a good walk. I'm thinking yes, S will go down pretty easy because we've worn her out. This was not to be. S found a little green button and proceeded to put it in her nose. Yes, we caught her the first time and now we realize we should have taken it away, but we didn't. The second time she put it in her nose and when she couldn't get it out she proceeded to panic and pushed it further up. And so started our evening of a trip to Urgent Care and then to the Emergency Room. We thought Urgent Care could take care of it, but they didn't have the tools needed, because our girl had shoved the button so far up her nose they just couldn't get to it.

So off to the Emergency Room we go. Thank goodness they were not busy and we were seen to right away. After strapping her down and more screaming, a very good group of nurses and a doctor removed the button.

We had a long talk about how we don't put anything in our noses, including fingers and buttons are for shirts, pants and pj's only.

I'm tired.

St. Francis Shadowbox

My mom is the sponsor to a lady that is going through RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). For those of you who don't know what this means, she's becoming Catholic. RCIA is also really great for Cradle Catholics. Its like a refresher course. I went through it 3 years ago with my husband when he became Catholic. I had suggested it to my mom and I'm so glad I did. She has gotten so much out of it. Not to mention the lady she's sponsoring has decided to become Catholic after her third time through RCIA.

With that, my mom wanted to give her something special for this wonderful event. After I gave her the butterfly shadowbox, she thought that something similar would be a nice gift. So we came up with a shadowbox with the image of St. Francis of Assisi and the prayer he is known for. St. Francis is her chosen saint. What I did was print an image of St. Francis on white paper then printed the prayer on a sheet of vellum. I didn't want St. Francis' image to compete with the words, so I put another sheet of vellum behind the prayer to soften the image. A couple of die cut butterflies and I was done. I think it turned out pretty nice and I think she will really love it.

Fresh Cut Thank You's

I have many thank you's to send out and I found this cute idea from Lisa's blog using the Fresh Cut Notes. I had a ton of them and I thought this is a great way to use them. Here's what I came up with.
