Happy Anniversary!

Today is my 13th Wedding Anniversary. I can't believe its been 13 years. We were so very young when we got married. Well not really, but when you look back on it....it seems young now. My husband is a very unique guy. First of all he's tremendously funny...anyone will tell you this. He's also extremely sweet. He loves a good meal at a nice restaurant and is usually willing to try most dishes. He can appreciate art and music, but loves his football and baseball. I'm a bit bossy (he'll tell you very), but he lets me be me. We are opposites in many ways, but in the important things we are right on. We both can appreciate a good funny story or movie. We enjoy watching the same TV show (The Office and many Discovery Channel programs). And after a few years of trying we now share a small addiction to Starbucks. I'm so blessed to be married to this man and thankful God choose him to be the father of my children.

Happy Anniversary Shane! Here's to many many more years of love and goofiness!

Oh and here is the card I made for him.

Happy Birthday Liz!

Today is my sister's birthday! I won't divulge her age, but she is my older sister as most of you know since her children are closer to my age than she is....heh. I wish her a very happy birthday and am glad that we've been able to celebrate them together. I know there will come a day when we won't be able to do that, but for the time being we are blessed. As usual the whole family will be joining together for dinner to celebrate her birthday. Here is the card I made for her.

Happy Birthday Liz!

Christmas Gift

I bought several of these candles last year after Christmas at Pier 1 for Christmas gift this year for the ladies that work with my husband. I thought I would spruce them up a bit. I think they turned out pretty cute.

It just kept coming and coming

Can you believe this!? It was a beautiful evening. Our family went and looked a Christmas lights at a local place called Santa's Wonderland and it was quite a sight. Real snow everywhere. On our drive home children where building snowmen in their yards. It doesn't look as pretty this morning...some of the snow has melted. Its still an amazing sight to see...everything is white!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

Its snowing! In Texas, in December. This pretty much never happens. Now, I know this isn't much of what most of you would call snow, but its a big deal to us. Considering its usually 75 on Christmas day and will most likely be that this year, I'm thrilled. I can't recall it ever doing this in December in my lifetime. They're big fat chunky flakes. Of course its melting the moment it hits the ground, but I'm good with it just falling from the sky. Here are some truly pathetic pictures. If you look closely you can make out a few white blurs in the picture...that's the snow. Since I started this post, its really coming down more now. The grass is actually getting covered. Ooooh, how exciting!

*Update*

Here are some pictures I just took a few minutes ago....big difference!

Pics from Thanksgiving

Here is a picture from Thanksgiving of my gal playing with her great-grandpa "Doc." Doc is a former vet. He also taught at TAMU in the 60's. This man is incredibly smart, kind and very talented. He draws and paints. We are fortunate enough to have one of his original paintings hanging in our home. I try to take as many pictures as I can of them two together. How many of you have pictures of you with a great-grandparent?
And here she is getting ready to eat a black olive. She's so goofy.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I love Thanksgiving! It's my favorite holiday. I love all the special food we eat and I love spending time with people I love. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year for everyone to reflect on what we are thankful for. I especially give thanks for good health, mine and my family and friends. I'm also thankful for having my family near me. Both my parents and my husbands parents live near us, as well as my sister and my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. So no traveling for us...AMEN! That in itself is something to be truly thankful for. I'm also thankful for my family....my husband, my little gal and the baby on the way. I could go on and on...but I won't. Needless to say I'm very thankful for many things. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving.

Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle

Doesn't this look awesome!? I made this Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle for desert this evening. We've been invited to attend a birthday dinner at a friends house and I thought I would bring desert. My friend Lacey gave me the cookbook, Southern Living Incredible Chocolate Recipes, which had the recipe in it. I've been wanting to make it for a while, but there was no way I was going to make it just for us...way too much to eat. The birthday dinner is a great opportunity to make it.

If any of you are interested in the cookbook or the trifle that the dessert is made in you can easily get both from Lacey or your local Southern Living at Home demonstrator. FYI...the trifle comes with a lid too!

Bookmarks, Post it Notepads....

Here are a few things I made for a lady that works with my husband. Most of you have seen these before over at ChicNScratch. Angie Juda is always a great inspiration for ideas. Check out her Stampin' Academy for video demonstrations.

I saw a variation of the bookmark at Regional and modified it slightly. I really love how those turned out. Considering I didn't know how they were assembled, I think I did a pretty good job.

My Little Crafter

I was working on my card club cards and anytime I do stamping when my gal is around she wants to stamp too. So here she is water coloring. She is very good at it. She kept asking me to take her picture...heh. I really hope this is not a faze and she enjoys crafting all her life. Many of you know, no one else in my family is as much into crafting as I am. I hope to be able to share this hobby with my girl for many years to come.

Canton

Here are a few pictures from Canton. It was totally crowded, but that's how it is in November. I had lots of fun and was able to shop at several of my favorite spots. I probably won't be able to make it back for a while if I don't go before the baby is born...just not going to be possible.

My sister, mom and niece. (BTW...I also had on black. This is a regular occurrence in my family, to wear the same color to anything we do together. Great minds?....I guess my niece didn't get the memo.)

One of many concessions stands. Lemonade is a common choice.

Inside one of the many pavilions.

Great place to eat. My mom is from South Louisiana (Cajun) and they cook just how she does. The best Etouffee!
