Stamp Camp

Inspired by Julie at Paper Pleasing Ideas.

Well, Stamp Camp turned out great! I had 7 ladies attend and I hope they had fun. They made 7 cards and one non card project. Here are some pics of the cards and the ladies working away. I got some of my inspirations from the blogs I read (see list on the right).

More cards

Fortunately, I took a few pictures of some cards before I returned the borrowed camera to my mother-in-law. Here are a couple of little ones (3x3) that I made recently.

Still waiting....

Yes, I'm still waiting on my camera. I called Best Buy today and they did tell me that it is being repaired and should be ready, are you sitting down....NEXT WEEK! Argh! Okay, this is my fault, but man its seems to be taking forever. So I guess I will borrow my mother-in-laws camera again, if she'll let me. This time I need it to take pictures of my very first Stamp Camp. I'm super excited and a little tired. This week at work has been particularly busy. So with cleaning the house, work, prepping for SC and just trying to spend time with my fam, I'm exhausted. Stamp Camp should be easy though, once everyone gets here, I just sit back and hand out door prizes while everyone creates. I'll post the projects we made after its all over(don't want to give away the surprise to those who read this and are attending).

Another card and waiting....

Here's another card I did last week. The inspiration is from Pottery Barn. Still waiting on the camera. Hopefully this week, soon!

Card

Okay, I still don't have my camera back, but I was able to take a few pics while I had my mother-in-laws for the shower. Here is a card I made recently. The image below is from Pottery Barn and it was the inspiration for the card below.

The 4 Queens

I visited my good friend Kathy on Saturday with my friend Lacey and my gal S. She owns and runs a great store in Navasota TX called The 4 Queens. They sell lots of great home decor stuff, jewelry, clothing and almost anything in between. They are working on their web page, so be sure to check them out in Navasota if you are in town. Their address is 203 E. Washington Ave, which I call main street. Their store is brown and yellow with a pink sign that says, The 4 Queens. S was so cute and honest. We walked in and she said it smells good in here! It did.

Baby Shower

I and 3 other ladies hosted a shower for are very good friend, Ellen who is expecting a baby girl in August. Here are a couple of pictures from the gathering. You will probably recognize the cupcakes from Kristina Werners blog. Emily, one of the other hostesses made the cute Hershey bar wrappers.

More ramblings until my camera returns

I just received my pictures and CD from Shutterfly. I previously used WalMart, but ran into an issue with them and the CD I ordered. I won't rant about that. Anyway, Shutterfly is great. Low stress way of getting your pics. You have to pay for shipping but with the cost of gas (check out my friend Jennie's blog, she's giving away gas!), its worth it. They said I wouldn't receive them until 6/20 or later, but got them today (ordered 6/17). Now, I'm one for packaging. When I order something online, which happens often, I like it when the packaging is nice and neat. Shutterfly had my order all nicely organized, the CD was labeled with the title I gave it and came in a case! The pictures were in another envelope. This says CUSTOMER SERVICE IS IMPORTANT TO US! And as most of you know by now, this is important to me. They are going on my list of people to buy from. Check 'em out if you haven't already.

Onto another topic...Music. I love music and so does my family. My gal S and I love to dance to everything. I love that she loves the Saturday Night Fever and Amelie soundtracks! She's 2, its just too awesome. Anyway, back to what I was getting at. I recently heard a girl on Good Morning America. Her name is Adele. She is fabulous! Jazzy, smooth, kinda pop, funky...the kind of music I like. Listen to her, she's really good.

Introducing Decor Elements from Stampin' Up!

I'm very excited about this new product offered by Stampin' Up! As a designer this is right up my ally. The Decor Elements are a vinyl product that you attach to your wall, but its not permanent. I've attached a link here with the products that are going to be available July 1, 2008. What's really great about these products are that if you like the stamps you will love the Decor Elements, the designs are taken straight from the stamps.

Cards, Camera and Customer Service

For starters I'm diligently making cards to post as soon as my camera is back. Which by the way, my camera should be ready next week. It just all depends on if they can fix it. If they can not fix it, I get a new camera. And now on to customer service. I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond, here's a side not...My original post was titled Bed, Bath and Freakin' Beyond, for those of you who didn't watch Sex and the City (show, not movie) this was from it. Long explanation and I won't go into it now. Anyway, as promised they refunded me the discount when I presented the 4 coupons, big savings. Gotta love BBB! Also, at Best Busy they were super friendly and very helpful. Two great places to shop.

I broke my camera.

Well I broke my camera. I dropped it yet again. Now, I knew I would do this, that is why I bought a warranty when I purchased the camera. This is the second time I've dropped it and it will be the second time I will have to use the warranty. I called Best Buy and got a great surprise. I thought my warranty was for only two years and figured it had expired. I purchased a 4 year warranty! Ha! So, I'm taking it in for repair. I'm not sure how long it will be out of commission, but hopefully I'll have it back before the weekend. I have a shower that I'm helping host and I wanted to use it then. Oh well, I'll just borrow my mother-in-laws if necessary. So, no pictures for a bit. I'll continue to make cards and post once the camera is back.

It may be on the list and this will be your last time to purchase it. The last day to order is August 10th. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or would like to place an order. Remember you don't have to host a workshop to place an order.

Bed, Bath and Freakin' Beyond!

Okay...as many of you know I'm big on customer service. I will find a manager and praise someone if they are doing a good job, but I will also complain and boycott if the CS is bad. Well let me tell you about the FABULOUS experience I had a Bed, Bath and Beyond today! I needed to get a wedding gift and was searching for the items. A sales associate approached almost immediately and asked if I needed help, very friendly too! I did indeed need help locating an item and they were more than happy to help. Then checking out I realized that I forgot one of the 30 or so coupons I have. Side note here, for anyone of you who did not know, the College Station BBB will except multiple coupons during a single purchase and will also except competitors as well. Anyway, they proceeded to tell me to come back at my convenience with my coupons and they would give me the discount from my receipt. She wrapped the gift up with out me asking and did a nice job to boot. I have found that anytime I go in Bed, Bath and Beyond there is an abundance of friendly associates. This is not a common occurrence at most stores I patronize. Way to go Bed, Bath and Beyond! You haven't forgotten who's important...the customer.

A few random cards

Here are a few cards I recenlty made. I know a few of you are thinking, "wow, how does she have time?" Well that's just it, these don't take long to make. And this is why I love the little cards. It only requires a 3x6 piece of card stock, so its great for using up those scraps. I love the Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip together. I'm trying out the Ruby Red with some teals/blues, this was the first one. I'm sure you have noticed my cards are simple. I don't like a lot of hoo-hah, plus I don't have the time.

Pretty Card

Here is a card I made with the new Fresh Cuts stamp set. Isn't it pretty? I was going to hold off posting it, but thought it was just too pretty not to post. I think I might make this or a variation of it for Stamp Camp.

Little Thank you's

I totally got this idea from Angie Juda. I happen to have the Seeing Spots stamp set (one of my favorites, I think I've mentioned that before). These were super easy and fast to make. Churned these out in about 15 minutes.

eScape....Circle of Friends Stamp Set

Here are a couple of cards using the Circle of Friends Stamp Set. The smaller card is from the eScape bundle and the large card also uses the Seeing Spots stamp set, which is one of my favorites.

My gal S and her buddy R

Here is a picture of my gal S and her buddy R. They are just a couple of months apart. R is about to turn 2 this month. Aren't they sweet. I wonder what they are thinking.

Lastest arrival from Stampin' Up!

I just received my order from Stampin' Up! Here is the Fresh Cut stamp set...very cute. And the eScape bundle. I'm very glad I decided to get these. My friend Lacey said they looked better in person, I would have to agree. I'll have them to show at Stamp Camp now, so if you are interested you can see them in person. In fact I might do a couple of projects with them. I also received my order from Eclectic Paperie. Very nice ladies over there...they even wrote a thank you on my receipt.
