Butterflies for my mom

So my mom is a fan of butterflies. She has been as long as I can remember. She really doesn't want anything anymore for her birthday except Starbucks gift cards, which I can totally understand. She does so much for me, I wanted to give her something more.

I came across this idea for a specimen shadow box in one of my card magazines. I'm very sure many of you have seen this idea before and its a great one. I thought she would love it and she did. I used my Big Shot Butterfly die to cut out the butterflies. This really could not have been an easier project. The background paper is 12x12, so no cutting there and there is no stamping on this project. The hardest thing was deciding which paper to use and what layout to do the butterflies in.

I used the DSP that is in the new Occasions Mini (available April 1). The background is the Patterns DSP in Baha Breeze.

Your Mom will love it. It turned out great! Such a neat idea and what a great gift :) Now, they just need a ladybug die for the Big Shot, hehe!
