Sara's Leaving :(

My friend Sara is moving away. So last night Emily, Lacey and I got together with her for a going away dinner.

Here we all are....there was a nice breeze. Can't you tell?

I wanted to give her something that she could remember me by. Since it was paper crafting that brought us together, I thought I would make her something.

Card

Little notebook

Sara loves flip flops.

I'm going to miss you Sara:(

My good friend Sara recently hosted a workshop and these are the cards we made. The first one is courtesy of Stampin' Up! The second card is of my own creation...both very easy.

Because I Care

I found myself today with only one child and she was sleeping. I knew this was God handing me some special creative time for me. And well thank you mom for taking my big girl to the movies. So with all this time on my hands I said to myself you are definitely going to make at least one card with the new goodies from SU!

So here it is...Because I Care.

I used several new items that will be available in the new catalog. Because I Care Hostess Level 1 stamp set, Daffodil Delight CS, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and Vintage Wallpaper Textures Impressions Folder.

First off I want to say, love, love the 1/8" ribbon. Perfect for cards that are being mailed. Very sophisticated and elegant. The Daffodil Delight is just that a delight...such a wonderful color. The Vintage Wallpaper Textures Impressions Folder is right up my ally. And last but not least the Because I Care stamp set. Let me just tell you. This was not something I was excited about. It was free when I purchased the new color kit. I thought it was an okay set, wrong....love it! So back to why it was free. Well SU! cares so much about their demos and how frustrated a lot of us have been with the Color Renovation they decided they would just give it to us....now talk about pretty nice.
This was just a little snippet of why its so awesome to be a SU demonstrator! Free stuff all the time, discount, sneak peeks, you name it! So if you are on the fence here is just one more reason you should join...$99 starter kit and its only good till the end of June! Contact me today to take advantage of this great deal.

Thinking of You

Emily inspired me to show some older cards, cards that were made long long ago. Cards that demonstrated my not so honed paper crafting abilities. I definitely think I have improved my skills over the past year. Here's a card that I made when I first became a demonstrator, I think. It may have even been prior to that. I think I did a pretty good job, but then again the DSP is really the focal point and you can't go wrong with that. I like this layout and its a great way to use any of your DSP. I might make more of these. I'm not sure why I never sent this out, maybe it was because it was one of my better ones and I hated to part with it. Can anyone relate?

Rustic Rooster

I completely copied this from Shelli's blog. I love the Rustic Rooster stamp set and when I saw what she did with it, I was all over it.

Another Congratulations

Here's a card my mom asked me to make for a friend that is retiring. She likes sentiments on the inside and I was able to accommodate her with the Congratulations set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I very much like the color combination on this one.

Delicate Dots & Polka Dot Punches

Here's a card I made using the Delicate Dots DSP, Polka Dot Punches Stamp Set, Ribbon Bundle (Certainly Celery Poly Twill) Chit Chat Rub-Ons, and my Big Shot Scallop Circle Die. I also used my flower punch that matches the flower stamp in the set. In fact, all of the stamps in this set can be used with one of the SU!'s punches.

This stamp set, paper and the ribbon is all available in the Sale-A-Bration catalog that will start on Sunday, February 1st. I will have a link to the catalog posted on Sunday, but if you would like a hard copy of the catalog, just let me know...they're free! And of course you can always access it from my online store. Remember, when you make a $50 from the Idea Book and Catalog, you get one of any of the sets FREE from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. And for every $50 you spend after that, you get another set FREE and so on. Sounds like a pretty awesome deal.

I'm going to be posting examples of each set in the coming days and weeks.

Don't forget to post a comment by midnight tonight for your chance to win the Blog Candy.

Thinking of You....Fall

I'm so glad that summer is winding down. The only positive thing for me in the summer is my birthday, I'm just not a fan of the heat. Now that my birthday has past, I'm totally focused on the fall. I've been thinking of it a lot lately, with all the fall decorations appearing at the craft stores and all the rain we've gotten lately. I thought I would make a fallish card. Enjoy!

Stamp: Three Thoughts (retired)
CS: Really Rust and Old Olive
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Fall Flowers DSP, Pewter Brads, White grosgrain ribbon

Monogram Stationary

Here are a couple of cards that I made to show my friend Kathy at The 4 Queens. I also made some very similar ones that I gave to my friend Jennie for her birthday. They are very easy to make and you can personalize them for any occasion.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, my friend Kathy asked for me to make some cards to sell in her shop. I took several for her to choose from and she bought them all! I'm very excited. I'm super critical of my work, so I wasn't sure if she would like them. I guess she did. I didn't take pictures of all the cards, but I'm sure if you stop by her shop you can see them and maybe buy them!

Don't forget to post your guess for the card giveaway.

Fireworks, Friend Card and Blog Candy!

Well the 4th of July weekend is winding down. We saw some really great fireworks Saturday night from my in law's home. The Texas World Speedway was celebrating its 40 anniversary and had a fireworks show. I was really impressed.
Here's a friend card I did using the Western Sky Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! I also used White, Ruby Red and Soft Sky CS. The stamp set is For a Friend Hostess Set. I really like these colors together. It reminds me of the triple smile card I did a while back, click here to see it.
I'm expecting an order tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it as usual, but this order is especially exciting because it includes stamps that I'm going to be using to make cards that I'm going to sell at my friend Kathy's shop, The 4 Queens. I have several cards already made for her, but these new ones are being made with stamps with her and her shop in mind. Here's a hint....these stamps are found in the Spring/Summer Stampin' Up! catalog and if you check out my previous blog about The 4 Queens, you should be able to figure out at least one of the 4 stamp sets I ordered. Post a comment with your guess and I'll randomly select someone to receive a card using that stamp set. You have until Thursday at 8:00am to post.
